Broken hearts….
Disappointment, sadness, foolishness, arguments, fights, backs turned…
Abuse, divorce, jail, death…
Depression, anxiety, disorders, medication…
Broken.
Hope!
Isaiah preaches of good news for the broken-hearted. He speaks of salvation through hope in God’s promise.
Isaiah 61:1-2 NKJV
The Good News of Salvation
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
Broken hearts… can and will be remade! Joy! Hope! Love! Promised and fulfilled.
Luke 4:18-19 NKJV
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
There is no doubt that God’s Word is full of promises after the law failed. God’s Word doesn’t fail. His love was fulfilled in the savior that came and died for us. In death, life came. Life renewed. Hope fulfilled. Hearts repaired… and even if not in this temporary life, all will be as new in the eternal life.
